August 2014

A Trip to Maggie Valley North Carolina

Event Location: At the Ward's RV Camp Site #10A inside the Winngray Family Campground. Campground address is 26 Winngray Lane Waynesville, North Carolina 28785. It is located 2 1/2 miles South of I40, exit 20 on US 276 or from US 19 at Maggie Valley Inn in Maggie Valley 2 1/2 miles North on US 276. Call Ed at 321-543-8207 if you need directions. (Note: Campground is actually closer to Maggie Valley than Waynesville.)

Campground Visitors: Visitor entry into campground normally requires daily check-in at the front "Office" Building. This will not be necessary and should be avoided. Special arrangements made for our club members to drive directly into the campground, passing just to the left of the grey wood "Office" building. Drive straight ahead to the third paved street, turn right and we are the third Fifth Wheel RV("Presidental" Model) on your left.

Picnic Information: Plan to grill out hamburgers and hot dogs. Chips, dip;, snacks, ice, beer, green tea, cokes will be provided. Bring small coolers and personal beverages if you wish. Will have chairs.

Event schedule: Some folks arriving as early as 12 August and staying thru 17 August. Main event is Club Picnic scheduled for August 16. Other activities planned include a drive/site seeing along Blue Ridge Parkway in the Smokey Mountains, visiting Waterfalls, "Ghost Town" Wild West Show, Wheels Thru Time Museum (Antique/Classic Car and Motorcycles), and more.

Restaurants: You know that Nancy Ward has found and will be able to direct you the the best Prime Rib, Italian, Pizza, Mexican, Breakfast, etc. food in the area.

Jackets: Suggest bringing jackets for cooler weather and Blue Ridge Parkway Drive (Can be cold some days/nights).

Questions: Feel free to call Ed at 321-543-8207.
